Basically, the application creates a temporary connection to your PC through a QR code and then simply sends the files over the Wi-Fi network. It was thought for students and educators but could be useful for anyone. The tech giant Microsoft explains why it has created this new application, of course, I am talking about the new Photos Companion app. The Photos application has been gaining a lot of news, and the product team wanted to find out how they were being used in classrooms in the US and Europe. The biggest obstacle for students was not deciding what to include in their videos, or even editing them – it was to transfer content recorded with the smartphone to the PC. As the tech giant Microsoft has been paying more attention to the educational market, hence, it has prepared an application to solve the problem. First, you have to install Photos Companion on your iOS or Android device. Then simply open Photos in Windows 10, go to Settings, and enable the “Help Microsoft test mobile import through Wi-Fi ” option. Then simply go to Import> “From cell phone via Wi-Fi” Now you have to open the app on your iOS/Android device and then simply point the camera to the QR code. And then simply select the photos or videos to download, then tap Done and wait for the transfer now. If you already back up your photos through OneDrive, Dropbox, or another cloud service, that may not be so useful to you. And maybe the application could receive files on the smartphone instead of just sending them. Still, it’s good to see that the tech giant Microsoft is working steadily and significantly to make file transfer much more simpler and easier. For example, Windows 10 is testing Near Share, which allows you to send documents and images to nearby PCs. So, what do you think about this new application for iOS and Android devices?
